1 Corinthians 1:4-9
I
thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was
given to you by Christ Jesus,
The
thanksgiving Paul offers to God for the Corinthians seem odd,
considering the many problems the church was experiencing. However,
Paul focuses his praise not on the troubles Corinthians but on the
eternally faithful God. Paul does not praise the Corinthians for
their good works as he does for some other churches (see Eph 1:15)
instead he praises God who works in them. When focus on the people's
faults, hope soon wanes and discouragement follows. But when we
concentrate on the Lord, even in our darkest hour it can be filled
with praise. Through faith Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been
saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of
God,
Grace
come by re – transforming of the mind. Romans 12:2 said Do not be
conformed to this world, but he transformed by the renewal of your
mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect
will of God.
Instead
we mold our values of this world, the believer should be transformed,
that is, changed by the renewing of the mind spiritually, this starts
with the mind and heart. A mind dedicated to the world and its
concerns will produce a life tossed back and forth by the current of
culture. Be still a watch this. “ a mind dedicated to God's truth
will produce a life that can stand the test of time.” We can resist
temptations of our culture by meditating on God's truth (Word) and
letting the Holy Spirit guide and shape our thoughts and behaviors.
The
three principles that govern Gods grace.
- Grace can never be earned – Romans 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. Grace and works are mutually exclusive God's election was established solely on the basis of grace.
- Jesus Christ there is only one channel that grace can come through. John 1:17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus. Throughout the NT grace is God's favor expressed by sinful humankind apart from any human works or worth. Through there was abundant grace and truth expressed by God through the law He gave Moses, it is in the person of Jesus Christ that grace and truth are realized to the fullest.
- There is only one means we can appropriately or access grace Is through . Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can. Christian have been saved by grace. The grace of God is the source of salvation, faith is the channel, not the cause. God alone saves. Salvation never originates in the efforts of people;
Because
of God's love Deuteronomy 7:7-9 The Lord did not set His love on you
nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people,
for you were the least of all peoples; 8 but because the Lord loves
you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your
fathers, the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand, and
redeemed you from the house of 3bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh
king of Egypt.
“Therefore
know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps
covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him
and keep His commandments
God
has concluded one thing from us – BELIEF. Saints thank you for
being a faithful reader and God bless you and your families with
God's love.
Dear Father
God I take my place O' Lord with you heavenly and recognize by faith
that all wicked spirits and Satan himself are under my feet. I
declare, therefore, that Satan and his wicked spirits are subject to
me in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. I am thankful for the Armor
You have provided. I put on the Girdle of Truth, the Breastplate of
Righteousness, the Sandals of Peace and the Helmet of Salvation. I
lift up the Shield of Faith against all the fiery darts of the enemy;
and I take in my hand the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God. I
choose to use Your Word against all the forces of evil in my life. I
put on this Armor and live and pray in complete dependence upon You,
blessed Holy Spirit. I am grateful, Heavenly Father, that the Lord
Jesus Christ spoiled all principalities and powers and made a show of
them openly and triumphed over them in Himself. I claim all that
victory for my life today. I reject all the insinuations, and
accusations, and the temptations of Satan. I affirm that the Word of
God is true and I choose to live today in the light of God's Word. I
choose, Heavenly Father, to live in obedience to You and in
fellowship with you Lord all the days of my life. Glory to God Amen!
